Labor Timing
Natural labor typically begins between the 37th and 41st weeks of pregnancy. Labor that begins before the 37th week is considered premature.
Before Discharge
Ensure that the following documents are in order before discharge:
Extract from the medical certificate of birth
Feedback sheet of newborn registration at the polyclinic
Newborn exchange card
Newborn health certificate and passport
Verify that the following interventions have been carried out:
Preventive vaccinations for the newborn (if there are no contraindications)
Screening examinations for phenylketonuria, hypothyroidism, congenital heart defects, hearing, and hip joint issues.
Cesarean Section
A cesarean section is a surgical procedure where the baby is delivered through an incision made in the uterus rather than through the natural birth canal. This procedure is performed for various reasons, including the baby's position or the mother's health condition.
Hospital Discharge Timing
After a natural birth, the mother and baby are generally discharged 24-48 hours after birth. After a cesarean section, discharge typically occurs 72 hours after the procedure.
In some cases, a longer stay may be necessary, depending on complications.
